Introduction:
"Unless I go," Jesus said, "the Paraclete cannot come." But Jesus did go and the Paraclete, the Holy Spirit, the presence of God with us, did come, calling courageous women before us to greatness and to strength far beyond even their own expectations. That same Holy Spirit lives in us, too, guiding our hearts, leading our minds to deal well with the life in which we find ourselves. The Gifts of the Holy Spirit – Piety, Knowledge, Counsel, Understanding, Wisdom, Fortitude and Fear of the Lord – are breathed into our souls by the Holy Spirit who fires our hearts to live and think and talk and act as Jesus would act in similar situations. It is, then, the presence of the Holy Spirit for which we must pray as we face the challenges and burdens of our own lives, knowing that as the Spirit called women before us to feats unheard of, the Spirit is also now calling us.

Summary:
Ordinary times are the stuff of family life. The little rituals and traditions with which families celebrate those ordinary experiences of life reveal the "spirit' or spirituality of a family. Traditions bind families together, highlighting the specialness of the family unit and celebrating the importance of each member of the family. Studies now have shown that healthy families are those families which have many treasured traditions.
Excerpt: September 8 – Birth of Mary. Have a birthday party for Mary. Have a cake with candles and a Happy Birthday song. Share why Mary is special to you. Pray a Mary prayer today. If you have made a Mary candle, use it as a table centerpiece this week.
Summary:
The cover of this book depicts a changing heart. The darkened heart represents a heart filled with self-interests. The larger, open heart represents the heart that is open or with plenty of room for the interests and concerns of others. The hearts in between remind us that change is a gradual process. It takes time, so we each need to make a good use of these annual 40 days of Lent to improve our own ability to love and care for others.

Summary:
A handbook for spiritual growth structured for reading and praying the scriptures throughout the year. The author looks at events, places and objects common to our lives and finds the touch of God – a rainbow, a letter from a friend, a fallen leaf. These become focal points for sensitive, upbeat themes that help us communicate with the Lord.
Seasonal and monthly themes are enhanced and supported by daily scripture readings, poetic reflections and prayers. Questions at the end of each chapter help the reader keep a daily prayer journal to assist in integrating prayer and daily life.
Fresh Bread … is a book that can be recommended to anyone seeking a practical aid to spiritual development.

Summary:
In the grade-school years, your child builds upon that basic trust in God, in you, and in self. This book is written to help you continue to share faith in God with your child as he or she moves from childhood into early adolescence.
The information presented here is intended to go beyond teaching religion at home. It is meant to help you recognize the face of God in the joys and challenges of parenting. You will find helpful information on your child's intellectual, moral, and spiritual development as well as practical ideas for nurturing faith at each stage of growth.

Summary:
The purpose of this book is to show that by knowing Mary better, we come to know Jesus Christ her Son better. Jesus Christ is the only source of our salvation and Christian unity. When we realize that the unity of the church already exists in Jesus Christ, it is more likely that we will come humbly and obediently to Him as the source of truth and unity.

Summary:
Where is the church on Monday morning? In the shops, factories, schools, hospitals and offices of the community. On Monday night the church is in the homes and city offices as well as at the bingo game or religious education program. What does the church do? It produces food, cars and computers; it nurtures young minds through teaching and parenting; it serves us through barbage collection and mail delivery; it builds a better community through united funds and citizen action groups.
Since Vatican II, we have radically changed the way we look at God's presence in our world. The guide is intended for discussion by groups of laity. It envisions a series of one to two hour discussion or study sessions, which could be conducted over a period of 7 weeks, or divided however the group sees fit.
Spirituality of Parenting 3 copies available

Summary:
This book is designed to help parents get in touch with the holiness or presence of God in their daily lives. The book proposes that parenting is a God-lie activity. When parents discover this, they will have a greater sense of the significance of their lives and see themselves immersed in God's life as they meet the challenges of raising Christian children.
There is ample material in each chapter for two one and a half hour meetings. A chapter also could be used in small groups for a parish evening of reflection for parents.

Seeing the Holy in the Ordinary Leader's Guide also Available

Summary:
This is a book about seeing and harvesting. Seeing the holy in the ordinary! Harvesting angels out of the crumbs! Spending your days in the fast lane of life impairs the quality of your seeing. If you want to see to the depths, you will need to slow down. Holiness comes wrapped in the ordinary. There are burning bushes all around you. Every tree is full of angels. Hidden beauty is waiting in every crumb. Life wants to lead you from crumbs to angels, but this can happen only if you are willing to unwrap the ordinary by staying with it long enough to harvest its treasure.
